How Much Does It Cost to Rent Moving Crates? KC Pricing & Packages

The most common question we get before someone books: how much does this cost? Crate rental pricing is more transparent than most moving-industry services — there’s no quote process for standard residential rentals — but you may not know what to expect without seeing the menu.

Here’s our full Kansas City pricing, what’s included in each package, and what costs extra.

The base packages

Every package includes plastic crates, furniture dollies, reusable zip ties, and adhesive room labels. What’s included in every package -

Crates — standard plastic moving crate, 27 × 17 × 13 inches, holds about 2.5 cubic feet, rated for 70–80 lbs

• Furniture dollies — four-wheel rolling dollies for stacking and moving full crates
• Reusable zip ties — to seal each crate (2 per crate, plus spares)
• Adhesive room labels — to mark destination rooms
• Sanitized crates — every crate is cleaned between rentals

Delivery fees — three flat tiers by mileage

We’re local-only. Both your pack-up address and your move-in address must be inside our 60-mile service area from our Leavenworth, KS warehouse. The booking fee is set by whichever of your two addresses is farther from us. Past 60 miles we don’t serve — we’d recommend a long-distance moving company.

• Near zone (0–20 mi from Leavenworth): $25 flat delivery + pickup. Leavenworth, Lansing, Basehor, Platte City, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville. Same-day available before 11 AM.
• Mid zone (21–40 mi): $50 flat delivery + pickup. Most of the KC metro — KCMO core (Plaza, Brookside, Waldo, Westport, Crossroads, River Market), KCK, all of Johnson County (Mission, Prairie Village, Shawnee, Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park, Leawood), Parkville, Riverside, Weatherby Lake, Liberty, North KC, Lawrence, Eudora.
• Far zone (41–60 mi): $75 flat delivery + pickup. Outer edges — Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs.

Two-address rule: moving from Platte City (Near, $25) to Brookside (Mid, $50)? You pay $50 — the fee follows whichever address is farther. Moving Lawrence to Lee’s Summit (Mid to Far)? You pay $75.

We batch routes when possible — multiple deliveries on the same day stay efficient — but the published tier is what you pay.

Add-ons (charged at delivery)

Commercial and office packages

Long-term rentals (renovation, staging, storage)

Rentals beyond 2 weeks cost the listed weekly extension rate.

Examples:

• 3-week 2-bedroom rental: $199 + $40 = $239
• 4-week 3-bedroom rental: $239 + $50 × 2 = $339
• Month-long staging rental (typical): about $200–$300 depending on package size
• 3-month renovation storage rental (typical for 2-bedroom): about $399 + ongoing weekly rate

For rentals planned to extend 4+ weeks, ask about month-rate pricing — we offer a discount over the per-week extension rate.

Payment - Credit and debit cards through online checkout

• Commercial accounts: net-15 or net-30 invoicing with approved credit
• No separate deposit required; we keep a card on file for damage/lost-item policy

Cancellation and damage policy

Cancellation: Free 48+ hours before delivery (full refund on the package fee). Inside 48 hours, 50% refund on the package fee — we’ve already pulled your crates from available inventory by that point. Reschedule the delivery date for free with reasonable notice.

Damage / lost equipment:

• Normal wear is on us
• Damaged or unrecoverable crates: $35 each
• Lost dolly: $75 each

No surprise fees at pickup.

We publish the full policy and stick to it.

What’s NOT in our pricing

A few things people sometimes expect but we don’t include:

• Moving labor. We don’t move your stuff — we deliver and pick up the containers.

For moving labor, hire a separate moving company (we can recommend KC movers if you’d like).

• Packing services. Same — we deliver crates; you (or a hired packer) do the packing.
• Insurance for contents. Our policy covers the crates and dollies.

Your contents are your responsibility (or your homeowner’s/renter’s insurance, or your mover’s coverage).

• Specialty items (large TVs, hanging clothes, mattresses) — use specialty boxes for these.
